Was talking to a few at the meet last night about my recent trip to Hull to visit dreamscience, but thought i'd post a few pics up as well for those that are interested......... it was a long and very 'wet' day, but it was well worth it Cheesy

Basically, at the start of the day the car only made 173 bhp on the first RR run to see how it was running, which considering my car has only done 59k and is minty mint + its just had a full, major service at Ford, this was a disppointing figure and 10 bhp down from the already low 183bhp figure acheived @ APT a few months back!!

...... it was running rich, wasn't getting the right amount of 'spark' and the code on the ecu was well out of date. With the ECU soon updated, this alone gave the car a small gain and to cut a long story short, after a few hours of trying different things, they got it spot on......... the peak power figure acheived was 207bhp, but then it was de-tuned a bit to make it more fuel efficient and its now running a tasty 198bhp... now thats standard power i know, but when it was running 170 before, thats a big gain and the responsiveness and drivability of the car are both transformed.

I won't bore you all with any more details, but i'll just say i can't recommend dreamscience enough, 100% 1st class group of lads....... talked me through everything they were doing and was VERY interesting to watch it all be done!  Afro

Heres a few pics..............

My first drive over the Humber bridge.......... £2.70 each way!!!  Shocked

... and finally, Adam working his magic... and not a spanner in sight!!!  Cool

Well thats a surprise, it just goes to show how little we get to talk at the meets, as i didn't even know you had problems in the first place.

Ooooh yes Wink

'lean' I think was the word Christian used to describe it at APT.  Did you get the fuel filter etc changed Steve?

Should have done Chris yeah, its had the 90,000 major service for the V6 and i've also had a full set of shiney new spark plugs put in too!

Well thats a surprise, it just goes to show how little we get to talk at the meets, as i didn't even know you had problems in the first place.

I know what you mean, we never get the chance to have a long chat do we!! Smiley It all started at the APT rolling road day that Jon helped organise...... it got a low figure and i've now sorted it Grin

So you drove nearly 400 miles, payed hundreds of pounds, to get standard power. Am I missing something here?

Thats the whole thing about the dreamscience custom tunes tho! Its not about the top end bhp figure but the way the car drives. The car hasn't been 'modified' in any way, its just remapping and tuning what was there Wink

For example, the car was very hesitant under heavy acceleration and thats now been removed and the torque curve changed to give progressive power throughout the rev range............. with the fuelling and everything else now bang on, its now sooo much smoother and the responsiveness is transformed....... you can be driving along on the motorway, drop it in 3rd and floor it and the power is instantly there. The car just wasn't like that before, its a big old barge afterall!  Afro

Sounds to me like they saw you coming from the otherside of the Humber lol.

If your car was hesitating, it has a problem, get it fixed, and you would have had the same results, for alot less. What's the point of mapping a standard car for no power gain what so ever? Do you not think Ford would have put alot of work into the drivability of it themselves? I still don't get it Huh?

I can assure you he wasn't on passionford, i was with the car the whole time and it DID take ages to sort out and the difference IS amazing ........... Ford could update the ECU, i'm not arguing there, but the rest? no chance! Wink
