Well, not put any pics of my car up for ages, so here we go. Went to see a chap in Huntingdon today to pick up a little treat. Lovely fella, with a nice driveway too, MK5 Golf R32, Escort Cosworth on comps and a nicely modified Escort GTI. He'd just sold on an RS1600i project and had these left from it.

Anyway, on with the pics, guess what I bought off him....excuse the filthy car by the way...

7.5x17" Dymags. Not 100% sure on the colour, but it can always be changed when the weather improves. Love the design though, just what I was after. Sort of Comp style, only without the huge price tag. Need some centres, and not mint, but weren't a bad price, and plenty aggro for it. Plenty of space for some Brembo's too  Grin

Also fitted an RS grill to it as well. It's still way in the air in the pics after being jacked up, hopefully it will settle a touch, but it does need to come down a touch more. I want coilovers, but my bank balance seems to think it's a bad idea  Roll Eyes

I like the colour, but i think you need to remove the stilts. It is a touch on the high side Smiley

Looking good though

Looking good Jon, not sure on the white but you've already said you might change the colour and the wheel design looks rather good lol. I did spot the Motorsport grille tho, thats a subtle touch Grin

The Brembo's will probably wait a while. Want to swap to a disk rear beam first, and get the rest of the handling sorted. It's actually lowered a bit already, though like I say it does need to settle, had only just come off the jacks in these pictures. I may go a bit lower, though the RS beam will pull the back down a touch cos the pick up points are slightly different I believe.

It stops ok with the 300mm brakes on though, but Brembos will be better, just going to wait til I see some pop up at a decent price, no rush for them.

It's 2.0 powered, standard bar a 4-2-1 and stainless system. It goes ok for what it is to be honest, was quite surprised by it. Decat seems to hurt it at lower revs though, so may well put a cat back in.

I'm a bit torn though really, between going turbo with this, or buying something with more of an 80s vibe. Though this would be a bit of a sleeper with a ZT lump in, even with the wheels!
