It is with great sadness and a fair bit of embarrassment, that I present my new car. Tis not a Performance Ford, it can't really be tuned, and its not very exciting. Sadly I rely on my car far too much to have something that runs the risk of dying when it feels like it.

It's a Ford Fiesta.....

1.4l, 5 door (yes i know....), GREEN (Yes I know again...), 53 plate. I am picking it up in about an hour, and it looks something like this (found a random one on google). Sadly, the 5dr Green aspect was not of my tuning but it was the best i could find for the right money. It does have only 19000 on the clock and came from a Ford Dealership with full service etc, so thats not so bad.

The XR2i finally died, and having spend best part of £200-£300 PER MONTH for the last 4 keeping it going, i figured it was a wise decision to cut it loose. Needless to say i have every intention of having a "toy" to do up in the future sometime, so Its been stripped of anything remotely reusable (recaros, PAS System, Ford Racing gauges, wiring looms, vented bonnet etc).

I understand that when i come to meets, im to park down the road away from the proper cars  Tongue  Head v Brick Wall

Don't be silly Steve, that'll be as welcome in the pub car park as my ST200 lol....... even Mike R brings the astra estate sometimes!! That car is certainly a bit different to the XR2i granted BUT at the same time, its just what you need by the sounds of it to get yourself back on your feet and its a proper low milage example........ bung some nice alloys on it, a good cd player and maybe a couple of other small additions and you'll be well away!!

I bet you'll end up prefering it to the XR2, especially in the winer! Nowt wrong with a newer, more comfy, reliable car mate!!

Green 5 door though roflmfoa!!!

Get some green neons, slam it, black the windows out and get cruising partner lol thumbsup

I know, i know, 5 door green is fudging aweful!!!! Some lexus rear lights, neons and an ST front bumper - badly sprayed. Oh yea i can see it now, it'd be the chav motor of Plumstead. Don't forget the MASSIVE backbox lol. Everyone knows, if i stick a K+N on it, it'll have 20 more bhp easy!

Joking aside, you can't even improve the CD player it has! The slot is smaller than a standard DIN radio which is a bummer as my Sony MP3 CD head unit is the nuts! Gayness. That'll have to sit in the stash of spare bits awaiting the project car one day....

I come back from London to Norwich tonight, so Ill see what she can do. Ive never actually driven a "new" car (non 90's fiesta!) for more then a few miles so it'll be a little weird

New cars don't have particularly comfy seats, I'll agree there Wink

Step away from the neons.  Instead, put the money towards Lambo doors, or ST stripes Wink

Seriously though, it's a Ford, so it can park up with the rest of us...just don't park it in a cabbage field, eh?

Fair play really, can't knock it, I'm sure it will be reliable and get you about, something the older Fords often let us down at!

Besides, if you have a sensible daily drive, it means you can have an even less sensible toy  Grin

You would still be able to change the head unit steve, we have a black Mk6 Fiesta fascia adaptor at work that will convert the cd player space in the Mk6 to single DIN, therefore creating room for your Sony unit  Cool

This is the one you want........

I could get one for you mate  occasion14

It's not just a Fiesta...it's a Fiesta Ghia Wink  Heated mirrors and windscreen I'd concede to, but not much else.  Besides, take it from me - leather seats in the winter is particularly antisocial.
