Thanks for the comments, if I can find a decent tuner/rolling rd before next meet it'll be there. Running really rich at the moment. Engine has done less than 40 miles since rebuild. Used about 1/4 tank doing 12 miles!!!!!! Huh? Grin

just outside of Norwich, engine management is original but has got electronic ign. It's got twin 45 webber carbs, Kent cam, overbored to 2.1, block skimmed to top of pistons, knife edge crank etc, etc.     Wink

The trouble is there isn't that many places that specialise in old school, modded motors like yours. I'm not sure if your ecu can be chipped, it's probably older than Rainbirds first boyfriend. I would recommend a new ecu, not cheap I know, but it'll have the engine running much better, as in properly lol.

There are 2 places I would recommend trying. Obvioulsly where I take mine, which is very close to you, as in APT in Lenwade (01603 870990 www.ap-tuning.co.uk ). Talk to either Christian or Gary, they are the muts nuts on all cars, but specialise in Jap crap, but deffo worth a chat! The other place I would consider would be Emerald in Watton, not too far from you, he makes his own ecu's, as does APT, but I know he has mapped a couple of Mk2 RS2K's in the past. tJust bear in mind the latter just does ecu's and mapping. Hope this helps a little. Smiley

cheers Churchy, I've also been recommended Clive Attowe or SCA. Has anyone had any dealings with either? Another name mentioned was Shaun Taylor.

Avoid both like the clap! There are poeple in our club that have had dealings with both, come along to the next meet and you will hear them!!! SCA are ok for buying stuff like oil, but thats where it ends.

Please correct me if im wrong but i believe Churchy is being dumb.
Oscar was built many moons ago back in a time when a pocket calculator would have been the size of a phone directory. Therefore an ECU would need its own trailer to pull it!!! (oscar doesn't have an ECU)

I believe what Oscar needs is his Mixture/jets adjusting on the Carbs, this would seem like a job for Emerald at Watton as i get the feeling he is more acustom to a bit of old school tuning.

Nice try anyway Churchy Smiley

So after berating me for being dumb, the only place you could think of round here was the place I already told him to try.

After a bit of head scratching, nut scratching, cursing and quietly weeping in the corner of the garage, I've managed to get oscar on song a bit. After a bit of playing with the carbs and timing I took him out for a run. Due to the rally cam it stutters low down in the rev range but over 3k it f**king flies considering its 33 yrs old. I know old speedos aren't accurate but it read over 120 mph and revved of the clock!!!!!!

This car is gonna be fun when properly sorted!    Cool Grin Tongue
