Went to see tabetha today to change my fuel pump and filter.

Stuck the pics in my gallery: http://www.bluecossie.com/newgallery/thumbnails.php?album=4

There's a pic of his new 'tool' in there too Wink

Points to note:

  • You should replace the fuel pump cradle - mine was a little decrepid, but we cleaned it up as best we could.  The rubber nuggets that act as dampers are still available from Ford for around ?8 each.
  • Install the fuel filter the RIGHT way around - whoever fitted mine before I bought it put it on backwards.
  • Renew the copper washers - the originals will leak.
  • When installing the pump, make sure the terminals are North-South, not East-West, BEFORE you offer it up to the bodywork otherwise the power connectors will be in the way of the high pressure hose, eh tabs? Wink
  • Mind your fingers - or you'll lose them, if not pieces of them, eh tabs Wink
  • Copaslip the bolts to aid removal later.
  • Check the fuel pressure after installation.

DIdn't get much of a chance to nail it on the way home - followed a snake of traffic all the way home.

I put the pump in that way on purpose, just to see if you would spot it!!
Well that's my excuse anyway, my hair stinks of unleaded, and I have run out of plasters.
