Oh, while i remember, what does everybody think about removing the side skirts? Should i bother? Trouble is they are riveted on, so will need drilling to remove. I would like them off so i can clean and polish underneath (to prevent rust) + i will have them sprayed, and they will be easier to spray when off the car? I leave the desision in your hands people...

Wheels and tyres pressure washed, courtesy of Kings and Barnhams large pressure washer. Tyres removed, now wheels are ready to be resprayed. these will be done in a few weeks (i hope) The 2 front tyres are being donated to the track car as the are only just legal (worn on inside edge) Next project is cleaning up the shocks and springs.

Good progress there Matt! Those wheels have come up really nicely, even before they're resprayed!!! As for the side skirts, to get them cleaned and polished underneath to prevent rust would be a good idea, BUT they will be a pain in the aRSe to get off i'm sure. When i had the GTi (... which had the same skirts ), taking them off was something i wouldn't have wanted to do but its up to you..... will look spot on either way i'm sure! Anyway, the cars looking a bit sorry for itself in those pics lol, but the end result will be well worth it i'm sure!

Im afraid funds do not permit the fitting of after market wheels (bo**ocks). Thats why the old ones are being resprayed. But i have been busy on other stuff though...... One petrol tank ready to be cleaned and sprayed silver. One squeeky rear bush, this has been annoying me for ages but have never been able to find the cause, As you can see from the piccy one side is like new and the other is knackered. A trip to the ford garage is required.
