With National Day just 4 days away, whats the plan (if any) with a convoy down there peoples!?  Huh?

I wasn't going to take the RS2000, but the insurance is sorted on it now + I gave Churchy the chance to have my show pass, but he's playing Cricket that Sunday so rather than let it go to waste, i may as well bring my new toy!  Grin

Gents

Spoke to Gav the other day, and the plan is to leave thickthorne at 06:30ish.

I'm not sure of the best route but Gav (from memory, and mine's a bad one) as Rockingham isn't too far from Thrapston services we could still go the usual A11/A14 route?

How does this sound to people?

Obviously if we do go A11 route we could meet up with the usual crowd at Barton Mills BP garage on the way?

A11/A14 will get us straight there Grin  If I remember the signs right, it's somewhere just before or just after the Weetabix Factory on the A14.

I'm going to be in Newmarket already, so if you chaps don't mind catching me at Newmarket on your way through - opportunity for a Burger King breakfast maybe? Wink

Yep, that all sounds like a plan to me! We'll leave about 6ish to get to Thickthorn in good time.

Cool

Let me know when you get to Thickthorn, as it'll probably take you guys around an hour to get to Newmarket, weather permitting... Wink

To find me and the missus at Newmarket, Proceed towards the A14 as normal.

When you leave the A11 and merge with the A14 (where the carriageway becomes 3 lanes wide), don't get carried away as you'll be coming off the A14 in less than a mile.  After the layby, there's a junction for the A142, signposted Newmarket and Ely.  Leave the A14 and go up the slip road, keep to the left lane.

Turn left at the junction.  Traffic coming from the Ely direction (if there is any) normally shows NO mercy, so watch out when you pull out.

Follow the road down, you'll quickly come to a roundabout, with a natty little right bend on its approach.  Burger King is right in front of you - go straight over, and make yourself at home. Smiley
