The Son of my boss has just had some plank drive into his 4x4 saff.

:mad:He has been given an allowance of ?2200 by his insurance company to get his car fixed, and has been asked to get some estimates.

Can anyone recommend anywhere for him to try, or steer clear of?

Cheers

That's very generous of them to offer to pay a 3rd party for the work...

All I'll say (with extremely good reason) is to avoid P&R Coachworks in Cambridge/Fulbourn like the plague.  Thieving scum muppets.

Depends really on where he is and how far he can  (or is willing to) transport it if it's not driveable.  Don't suppose he's taken any pictures?

You don't say how badly damaged the car is mate. But if it was me i would get a shell in good condition they go for as little as ?500 now, then spend the other ?1700 having it fully sprayed and then take all bits off and put them into a mint shell.

Yes, if the chassis or shell's bent, save what's worth saving, and find an empty shell.  I'll even help stick it all in! Cheesy

If it's just (for the sake of argument) cosmetic, look at my sig: it's  Cossie: FIX it!!

The guy who did mine's not far from Newmarket.

My Bad.. The engine is sound. It would probabily benefot from new belts and fans etc, but most of the damage is to the shell.

Doesn't appear twisted. Most damage is to the bonnet, bumper passenger wing etc.

Its probably a bit far to travel, but East Bilney Coachworks near Dereham are seriously top notch, i have never used them as they are out of my price range but thier work is second to none.
