For anyone interested that doesn't receive or read Rallye News, I'll summarise the LGM and AGM I attended on Sunday.

The highlight of the day for me was lunch - fresh sandwiches and chips, so enough carbs to keep a small army going for several months.  A definite "lowlight" of the day was driving 170 miles in thick fog, with retards also using the roads.  Things didn't improve much by the afternoon - another foggy 170 mile return trip topped the day off.

Prior to lunch was the LGM, concerned mainly with local groups.  Not much went on here, but almost the local groups that had missed the previous LGM had turned up, including ours.

During the summary of National Day, a bollocking was handed out to the Bedfordshire group because some bright spark had decided not to come in his RS to National Day, and instead turned up in a Vauxhall Omega and insisted that he was going on his local RS group's stand.  We know the rules for RS local groups at National Day I hope, and wouldn't like to be on the receiving end of a similar bollocking at the next AGM/LGM in 2013 (explain 2013 later).

There were no revisions to the local group rules, but it was mentioned that it is appropriate for all groups to have a backup plan for AGM/LGM attendance.  To ensure that local groups are recognised by the RSOC, they need to attend the AGMs and LGMs.

After lunch, the AGM eventually started, and after a minor disagreement over some figures on the club's balance sheet, we ended up on other matters.  A new S1 registrar was appointed by unanimous vote, a new insurance liaison was appointed, and  various people may have nodded off by this point as the funds didn't stretch to a PA system this year - it was difficult for some people at the back to hear what was going on.  Actual numbers of RSOC members had climbed slightly and remained stable (the exact figure escapes me but I seem to remember around 3500).

There was also talk that certain internet based car clubs were slating the RSOC for being money-grabbing arseholes that aren't worth the time of day.  I'd like to know which ones.  The pittance of an ANNUAL fee that us members pay goes towards paying for events like National Day - they don't just happen.  So, if you own an RS and aren't a member of the RSOC, pull your finger out and join it.  Or, you could sell your RS and then not need to whinge about it.

The minutes of both meetings will be in Rallye News, and I have really only jotted this down to show that we attended.  Comments welcome, and if you have ideas for either the Norfolk, or the National club, please do voice them!
