As I've started up the project thread (which should hopefully progress a bit more now), I thought I'd show you all my wonderful, amazing and sexual daily runner...

I picked it up about a month ago off passionford. Far from perfect, but it will do to get me about for now.

It's a '95 model Mexico special edition, in Petrol blue, came with 11 months MOT and 5 months tax.

Spec as follows...

Engine - 2.0 Silver Top Zetec from MK1 Mondeo, stainless back box, 130PS HO inlet manifold, 2.0 ECU conversion

Chassis - 16" OZ Super T with comedy profile 205/50 random budget tyres, Koni adjustable dampers and 40mm springs, RS2000 260mm front disks and calipers

Body - Colour coded bumpers, door trims, door handles and wing mirrors, GTI sideskirts and rear spats, smoked repeaters, half tint rear lights, Mexico badging, satin black Ghia front grill

Interior - GTI half leather seats and door cards, RS2000 steering wheel, GTI gearknob, Electric sunroof conversion, Ford CD tuner

Body isn't mint, and has a few rattles here and there, but can't knock it for £600. He also threw in an ST170 exhaust manifold that's been adapted to fit, so might chuck that on some time if I can be arsed...

Yes, a Mexico. Just some random special edition. had silly seat pattern, came in sporting colours, spoiler, white dials. Pretty crap spec to be honest. They did shit loads of special editions in the mid 90s and this is one of them. Or was, at least.

To be honest, I don't like it much, but it was cheap and will break for a lot more than I paid for it when I'm done abusing it  Grin

Thats a familiar car Wink

Yep, jon is quite right chris, ford did bring back the mexico name in the mid 90's believe it or not............. but it was for a basic, near poverty spec Mk6 escort with wheel trims etc. Bit different to the 70's Mexicos!

Looks a bargain for the price tho mate thumbsup

Probably about the same spec as the original Mexico as far as interior fittings go. Wink

Quick question though - why is the slam panel red?

Because it's been repaired at some point. Had an accident at some time or another.

I would say it bothers me, but it doesn't cos it will most likely get broken anyway  Grin

I see...said the blind man to the deaf dog. Wink

Before you consider breaking it would you consider offering it to the group as a track car, perhaps in exchange for some magic beans?  You're probably aware of the fate of the last one...

That would depend on the amount of magic beans involved. It's fate will be decided later in the year perhaps, depends how I feel in September time, might try and get something sensible and a bit newer to tool about in over winter!
