Had the 340 Conversion done to the car. It was a real hoot coming back from Leicester. Massively improved mid range and imho a far better delivery of power than before. No noticeable change in MPG, just staggering pace when you need it. As various articles have mentioned it is excellent to now toodle around in a lower gear without swapping cogs. It is probably not true but overtaking times seem like they take half the time than before.
Had a go in the 370 car and didnt feel much different to the 340, but a shed load more money.

Talk of all this tuning has given me the itch to get mine tuned up, was originally going to keep it standard.

I am thinking of going down the Mountune 350bhp conversion, was going to book a test drive up in their car in my next holiday within the next couple of weeks.  thumbsup

Not that it matters, but is that one of the "officially endorsed" Ford upgrades, just out of interest? Seems Mountune are doing them for a lot of hot fords now.

Yeah this one keeps the ford guarantee, its the kit used on the Focus RS500, same as usuall, enlarged intercooler, larger diameter downpipe, mountune airbox and uprated fuel pump and calibration.

They done a test on this kit in fastford and it made 360 at the fly and 377LB/ft of tourque

Gary, that would be the route I would go down personally, sounds like a great conversion.  I planned to keep the Mk2 pretty much standard so just settled for a simple chip, although it was strongly advised that the intercooler was needed especially for track work so had this fitted before the Ring trip.  As my Mk1 is really my 'toy' (which I'm afraid to say still blows the Mk2 into the weeds) which I plan to modify further I wanted to leave the Mk2 basically standard, however if it was the other way round I'm pretty sure I'd go Mountune.   thumbsup

So you basically end up with a RS500 in a roundabout way. Nice! Sounds like the way to go.

I read the review on the GGR upgrade on auto express's site, which sounds awesome as alibFRS has said. It seems that theres plenty to "unlock" on that car with very little hardware changing, regardless of which big company is doing it, which must be excellent for you guys!

i dunno i think i could put up with 750bhp everyday certainly get to work quicker. the noise from having no interior would certainly drown out the noise from radio 1!

Ok the cost for the conversion was the stock chip upgrade plus I changed a hose which if using OE can collapse under load. Total was 450 Quid I think. Sorry to be vague but paid for it in March and cant remember the exact amount. Undecided
I would say its well worth it. At the time Alistair (GGR) said this was their latest remap and superceded all other upgrades they had done. I have read some horror stories about flat spots and major dissapointments in the past. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised, GGR not only were very professional and dropped my wife and I at the shopping centre while we waited but said if it wasnt any good they would refund.
It was night and day from the car i dropped off in the morning. Mid range is truly staggering. I am lucky enough to have owned a 997 Turbo before this and was really impressed. 0-60s often quoted by people, in my opinion this is not what this car is about. I do feel some people dont get that out there.
As the car is blue and wife managed to kerb an alloy  Lips Sealed Lips Sealed I am thinking that a set of OE wheels in black would be the next thing...
