whoops fords done it again missed an opportunity and dropped the ball. funny that the company which makes the safest cars in the world makes a firebreather. if ford had used the exact same principle and taken advantage of owning volvo the focus RS would be the car in that link. 4wd 400bhp focus RS i can see the evo and scooby owners crying!!!

Looks and sounds like an awesome piece of kit.  However, as its in auto express I would personally take it with a huge pinch of salt.  Bit like them making up the Focus RS Club Sport which imo is alot more appealing than the RS500.   Undecided

It's a real car, it's been done by Volvo's tuning house Polestar (equivalent to BMW's Alpina).  They've copied the interior from my car LOL.

Ford, take note of the drive-train format!

If that's the case, which way is the bias directed normally?

front wheel drive when 4wd is not needed. i am 99% sure thats what the haldex system does. i was told thats the 4wd system they tried on the frs mk2 and probably why they didn't go for it.

You obviously got the Evo mag email the other day aswell then! :p

Yes it's a real car, not a production car as such though.

Would it be available to buy? And if so, how much? Very expensive I should imagine?

Nice car, and I'm sure very potent, but I bet it would cost a fortune to buy/build one. I thought I'd heard that the Haldex system wasn't all that. Good in a safety kind of way, but not in the lairy, old-skool, kick the tail out kind of way!

wonder how parasitic it is to power. I mean, how comparable is 400bhp 4x4 to 300bhp 2wd?

Don't know how the badly the system saps power but the R32s handling was pretty poor imo, I would expect  the Volvo to be a different kettle of fish but I would say its more down to suspension setup than the fact its 'sort of' 4x4.  FWD is the way forward these days!  Tongue Wink
