Just a quick update for you, I have my car back

Well actually I collected it early June, here is a shortened version of my article in the RS Norfolk newsletter.
I arrived very excited at SCS (as you can imagine) as I hadn't driven it since Snetterton, 27th October 2007! Harvey & Jim showed me round the car and what they had done.
All ready to head home, fresh fuel, new diff & gearbox oil, fresh new engine & mot!
At last the time to drive my RS home was here, the engine started first time and sounded smooth, the next hurdle was to pull away for the first time with a paddle clutch without stalling! This I managed and off I went down the road, as pleased as could be. First gear is a little juddery but not too bad, the other gears feel normal and the clutch feel & pedal weight isnt too bad either. I didn't have to wait long to practice my first gear, traffic driving as two roundabouts from SCS, the main road was closed due to an accident, this meant all the cars were then sent on single carraigway roads all trying to find our way back to the main road again. After this little hicup I was on my way home again with a smile on my face. I was aware of and still am aware of not killing 1st,2nd or more likely 3rd gear, so I was very gentle with these on the way home and only really testing the performance in 4th & 5th gear. I can report that the engine does pull very well and smooth!
The following weeks I have only taken the RS out a few times, and so far only had minor problems to correct, like a lamba bung working its way loose and coming out & a drive shaft gator coming off. These were sorted easily by me, I also decided to swap alternators, as mine was only reading around 11.5v when running.
As some may be aware when converting to coil packs the rev counter only reads 1/2 what is should so for the first few weeks I was trying to sort this out, which I think I have now
That was phase 1 over, now on to phase 2 - the body work!
I wanted to get my bonnet painted, so I have taken my car to Ivan at APVM for this to be done. After I had shown him the car, I decided to have a bit more major job done but to cover almost every little mark, dent (very minor) or bit of rust (fuel filler cap!!!!). The car has been there almost 3 weeks now so should be home soon.
I will put some pictures up soon and update you when I know more.
The car wont make it in time for this months meet but should be there for the August one.
VERY, VERY BIG THANK YOU TO HARVEY, JIM, TIM AND THE TEAM AT SCS, ALSO MIKE RAINBIRD FOR YOUR HELP
