I know exactly what you mean Chris, but on this occasion this stereo should be fine with or without the amp at the bottom of the dash... it was an optional upgrade to have the amp, my old one had it, this one doesn't. There stereo is the same Smiley

EDIT: refund should be on the cards for the radio anyway, the seller is actually a decent one!!

Should have this beast to go in the car soon..............

The eagle eyed will spot it's slightly different to the last radio i bought, thats because this is actually the 1990 model radio needed for my car..... turns out the other radio i bought was actually the upgrade 2007 model unit which came with the amp at the bottom of the dash so therefore wrong for the car......... glad it didn't work now!  Wink

Looking very nice dude! I couldn't put up with the old skool stereo, but I suppose as it's not a daily driver it's not too bad.

Looking forward to seeing it again!

The sound quality isn't that bad really!  Mind you half the cars I've had didn't even have radios so I'm probably not in a position to judge! lol

In our old Sierra estate, the sound was the nuts, even with the 1988 speakers!  When I got my first Sierra (a 1990 one) I discovered that Ford had begun cost cutting, because the standard system in my supposedly superior car was cack. Sad

I haven't been in the car since the stereo was put in on Saturday, but when driving home i was quite impressed by the quality. The aerial in the rear window seems pretty good as the sound was clear. That said, i have got brand new Hertz 10cm front speakers and 13cm Hertz rear speakers installed (all out of sight in the standard positions) so that helps Grin

I know what you mean tho Jon, if the car was a daily driver i'd have a nice CD player in like i did in my old Series 2, but for this one i'm loving the original unit and i've got a cassette shaped adaptor to play an iPod through it anyway Wink

EDIT: This is the beast, could be handy for you too Aaron?  Smiley

Just put another set of new plates on the car, finished with some nice black plate holders. I liked the others but they were only in the original style, these new ones are EXACT reproductions for what would have been on the car when new with the correct logo and size font etc thumbsup
