Yep, i'm sure you all remember it.............. the money pit that was my Series 1. Fair play to the current owner tho, its looking really good now and has clearly had some money spent on it. The sills have all been welded and the remaining trim pieces that were missing and i couldn't source, are now present. Thats just what i could see!!  Shocked

........ strangest thing is that while i was giving it a detailed inspection, what turned out to be the second owner (me being the 4th) walked up and i had a good chat with him for a while.... it WAS a 220bhp car when he had it and sounds like he spent a fortune on it too...... shame it wasn't like that when i had it. Ah well!  Wink

My friend at work's Husband has a white Mexico, apparently he had not been there long when he met the Guy who did all the body work on his car - Freaky!
I think he is a member of this forum to....

If I'd have met some of my car's previous owners, they'd have got a punch in the nose.  Some of the pikey bodge jobs I've found in there are inexcusable!

I couldn't believe I found your S1 Steve - I just turned around and there it was!  Wierd!

Did you get a chance to speak to the current owner, he was looking for you?

I had a chat with him for a while and it seems he has not yet got round to sorting the boost issues and didn't mention the rust.

I didnt have the heart to tell him what a heap it was when you had it just in case he did not know Sad

No, i'm gutted to say i didn't see him at all Matt, never mind get the chance to speak with him............ i went back to the car twice and there was no sign of him, and then at the end of the day i could see the car driving away from the distance. Thats a bit sad if he was looking for me tho, would have liked to have a chat. You obviously spoted it as well then! Wink
