Fun and games today Wink  Had the head off in an hour - don't know why it took Daz 12 months to get the boost hoses off. lmao

I had fun doing mine - was great learning how it all went together and how it worked. thumbsup

Should go back together easy enough. Wink

It doesn't run any more. lol

Daz should be pulling his finger out shortly to fill everyone in...  I believe he's after some porting and polishing and a professional opinion on the state of the head, which is presently rattling around in my boot.  Reminds me, I will need some exhaust valves some time in the future, but that's another thread entirely.

right hadnt done anything in a while because of house, and working stupid hours to build up cash. want more grunt so thought id renew the engine to make sure it can handle anything i want it to do. the cars hit 70K now so about the right time to do it before everything gets to worn. the grey rst was a different kettle of fish altogether. i was goin to cossie 4x4 it but realised i may as well get the real thing. and anyway in order to see all the rust it actually did have you had to strip it pretty bare.

im getting the cossie as i want it if it takes a few years so be it. i wasnt happy with the way it was so im building it right. its never leaving my possesion, so im building it for me to enjoy but when its finished then it will definately be worth it.  Funky Banana

Please note that if you are rebuilding the engine, then you need a specific power target, you then need a turbo choice to achieve that target and ONLY then can you make proper choices on what direction to go with porting, compression ratio, cams etc.  I can see without any formulated plan, you will end up with a mish-mash of poorly conceived ideas.

You can't just rebuild it to a wishy-washy "as new, but with a few improvements" spec (well you can, but it will just end up being such a compromise, that you won't achieve what you want, or you will have to accept either poor response or a lower power figure (depending what you have done)).
