That's as maybe, but it's not an RS, so has no hope of achieving the thirty grand price tag regardless of the engine under the bonnet.  IMO, a classic example of Cosworth tax gone silly. Wink

I'll take the engine, but it really doesn't belong in that shell...they should've turned the Duratec RS around 90 degrees instead. Wink

so they've gotten a tuned escort/sierra base and dropped a focus shell onto it, essentially. Not worth that much, even slightly

Indeed - the most expensive cut'n'shut known to man.

IMO YB's don't belong in anything other than a Sierra, or at a push, it's fine if they're shoehorned into a shonky Mk5 Escort shell (at the factory, I might add).   Tongue Wink

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that they're necessarily a bad thing - they can prove to be perfectly capable machines (so could anything with a YB and thousands of £££ spent on the suspension), but everyone's boat is floated differently.  I see it like this - When was the last time you saw a BDA or Lotus twincam powering a Sierra?  Both perfectly capable engines, so how come Sierras get the short straw and get scrapped for the engine?

I just don't like Sierras getting broken, particularly Cossies which generally get squashed after the engine's taken out.

Put it a slightly different way - Rolls Royce Olympus engine.  No-one's ever stuck one in a Cessna, which would be the airborne equivalent of a YB powered Mk1 Fiesta.

The Essex and Cologne are perfectly suited to the Capri - and as you know, so is the Pinto with a big fat carb. Wink
