It all started about 3 years ago i friend at work asked me if i was interested in a mercury grey escort rs turbo. Well i wasn't going 2 let the offer pass was i lol. it was in bits and a bit rusty but all the bits were there. I was originally going for a 200 bhp standard looking car but i lost interest before making any real progress. Fast forward too about 2-3 months ago my other rst got written off so instead of using the money i got payed out with getting it fixed ive turned my attentions 2 getting the grey rst done. Ive decided 2 ditch the 1.6L cvh for 2Lzvh and 300 bhp which should be fun. I dont think the gearbox would have taken it though so an st170 gearbox will go in its place. Thats it for now il update when ive made some more progress more time in the day needed!

Well 6 speed is definatly possible as Luke off of Fast Ford has done it in his Fiesta.

Beware of the dual mass flywheel as this will need changing for something else, possibly custom made and also it is a hydralic clutch.

If you can over come these hurdles your on the home stretch.

If you need a MTX75 box to uses as a template for the mounts i have one in the back garden  Smiley

Thanks Steve for putting the pictures up.  thumbsup

As you can see a bit of progress has been made on the 6 speed project most of the rusty pannels have now been removed from the shell and is being prepped for welding. On the engine side of things i nearly have all the parts to put it all together all that is left to buy are rods pistons headgasket and finally the turbo. I still have the gearbox sitting in the corner waiting for the Quaife ATB diff 2 go in it when i find the time.
