As you all well know, my Saff's in need of some restoration to the bodywork.  In places it's as rough as a quarter-to-two bird in a ropey nightclub.  Come July, it'll be off to APVM in Rackheath, where Churchy had his P38 wheelarch replaced. Kiss I went up there the other day to show Ivan the 'damage', and see what he said.  I was actually surprised that he said it should all be a piece of cake, which was nice!

Mine's going to have the rusty arch replaced, and have some small scuffs and scratches taken out - Ivan even reckons he might be able to repair my wonky rear bumper!  thumbsup

So, all being well, come Ford Fair, I should have a spankin lookin Saff! for a change. Afro  Watch this space for pics  Grin

Good man, Make sure you get the degreeser and pressure washer out on those wheels and engine bay too.

Matt's Top Bufty Tip;

To get it extra spangly take it to a petrol station with big pressure washer if you dont have one. Make sure you take some good degreeser with you.

Spray the engine with said degreeser and let it work for a little while before you put your tokens in the machine. (best wait for the engine to cool first as other wise the degreeser dries on)

Blast it good with the hose in all the noks and crannies, if still dirty repeat.

Once rinsed and while still wet spray with a tyre / engine cleaning spray, (Pop into the Ford garage and speak to the Valeter, at Fakenham they call it Banana Milkshake) This will dry shiney and make all your hoses and plastics look like new, plus it helps repel water in the future so stops water getting in your electrical connections.

No excuses for a dirty engine now Chris, its a damn sight easier than cleaning it with a rag too.

The deed is done...My Saff (I should really find a name for her) is now booked in at APVM on July 27th, where Ivan will be working his magic all week.   thumbsup  I'll stick some pics of what I'm having fixed, so there'll be a 'before and after' shot. Wink

Hopefully, she'll be finished before Ford Fair, which is of course on August 2nd!  Afro

Right, as some of you know, the old girl was dropped off on Monday morning, and only just made it thanks to a natty 'wet running' issue.

Just got the call from Ivan that she's ready and can be picked up this afternoon - sadly I can't get there this afternoon, so have arranged to go early tomorrow (Saturday) morning.  thumbsup

Cutting it a little fine but i hope your pleased when you pick it up.

Be careful with that fresh paint, no tail gating and for god sake make sure you wash it carefully to avoid swirl marks.

Auto glym Ultra deep shine is a very good polish for hiding minor swirl marks btw.

Pics of Ivan's work as requested!  Afro

For those who didn't see it at Ford Fair (where it was actually still quite grubby), you'll see it at the events in August or at the Meet on the 25th.

Top marks to Ivan - the man's a miracle worker.  Grin  Thanks to Churchy for telling me where to go - APVM are highly recommended!
