Rear bumper is off to have a bit of a polish behind and check for rot.

Found a tiny bit of surface rust inside the towing eye, so this is in the process of being treated, just waiting for the primer to dry

Front bumper is now off for much of the same.......

I use loads of different stuff on my black bits.

Firstly give it a damn good wash (pressure was and / or hot soapy water)

For most rubbers, rough finish paints and plastics i use 'Auto Glym Bumper Care' this protects plastics and rubber and helps to stop them perishing.

For a quick shine on silicone hoses, tyres, wheel arches, dash boards e.t.c use 'Silicone lubricant spray'.  Most plumers use it as pipe slip so is available from plumbers merchants.

For tyres, arches and the entire engine bay use 'Smart - Tyre Dandy' just after you have rinsed the car i.e when it is still wet, thats what makes my tyres shine like new at the shows. Pop into any garage and buy it direct from their valet. There are lots of different types but i preffer the spray on foaming aerosol. It also helps water proof electrical connections Smiley

Again, very impressive Matt. I use the Autoglym bumper care myself, i've found that to be a great little addition to my bufty bag and isn't that expensive either. It helped bring the plastics on the mondeo back to jet black and i'm still on my one and only bottle a couple of years after getting it.

I've still only given the Escort one coat of Merguiars tech wax tho which gives pretty good results BUT can be a 'chalky' if you know what i mean and leaves a small residue... Poorboy's Natty Wax has give the best results so far for the Mondeo @ last year's Ford Fair, must give that a go on the Escort.... smells like hubba bubba too lol Grin

Don't forget shutting down M3s and Golfs Wink

Stage 1 Escort Cossie Vs M3's?? thats a bold claim Chris but it would look gooooood having a go tho Grin

I'm pretty sure it'd give an E36 M3 a run for its money. Wink

You'll be taking it to shows on a trailer next and building a heated garage for it! That said, I'm sure there are worse ECOS getting that kind of treatment. Your's is bloody new practically, i really am staggered by whats behind the bumpers and the look of the plastics etc. Beautiful

Like it's been said tho - go scare some jap shite from time to time eh?!
