Dad has said he wants to get rid of his cossie again as he's losing enthusiasm for it. Question is, would my heavy right foot be dangerous in a rear wheel drive?

Take it for a spin and see what you think Wink

Just remember that you need to show a RWD Cossie's loud pedal respect or it will quickly try and spit you out Wink

its all about trottle control. sometimes a feathered touch can be just as good as a stomp. treat it with respect and ul be fine. alternatively you could drive in reverse everywhere and u wouldnt notice any difference to your rst  Grin

How often do you get a chance to buy any car that you actually know the history of?
If you treat it with respect, take it easy you will soon learn how to handle it.

If your happy that its what you want then go for it, plus as a bonus you should get a cracking discount on the price Smiley

The RS Turbo is a nice car mate, BUT you've said yourself it needs work.......... if the Saph really is going to be sold, it could be the chance to get a good one @ a good price?? Wink

Is the car pretty much standard?? Everyone always says about them spinning out and being a handful etc, but in standard form, they can't be that bad or nobody would have bought one in the first place! I reckon you would get used to it pretty quick!

I'm sure I would get used to it pretty sharpish, just wouldn't be able to throw it around quite the same as I do mine!

I certainly like the thought of something a bit quicker, and there's less rust which is a bonus. I suppose I'm just rather attached to mine after 6 and a bit years!

So, next question, does anyone want to buy the RS turbo??

They're not that much of a handful to be honest, and they will let you know that oversteer is coming with that tiny bit of understeer right before the tail lets go if you're pushing it hard in the corners - they do grip really well when pushed hard though, just bear in mind there is a limit. Wink   Learning that sensation is essential if you're going to drive it hard.  Having the suspension properly sorted helps enormously, as I'm sure Monsieur Rainbird will be happy to tell you.  thumbsup

If you're not paying attention, you can run out of talent and become another victim of the Cosworth.  Complacency (generally from car thieves) is what gave them their reputation. Wink

Just make sure the rear tyres aren't slick (particularly on the inner edge) and you should be fine if you've got a heavy right foot Grin

Also remember the rules that apply to full throttle also apply to the Veyron:  Tongue
  • Is the road completely clear?
  • Is the road completely dry?
  • Is the road completely straight?
Only if the answer to all three questions is 'Yes' can you plant it...  Grin
