Thought I'd go crazy yesterday. Was a really nice evening, and had a bit of time on my hands, and thought I hadn't actually driven my car, just for the simple pleasure of driving, for ages. It's usually just to get places.

Anyway, about 20-30 minutes from my house, you end up deep in the Peak District, via a drive past Alton Towers (the roads near there are pretty darn good). Anyway, the Peak District is just an enormous maze of quiet lanes. I got hugely lost, but it's all good fun. Some great roads up there, and a good way to test your car, as it there are some really steep inclines, and mini 'passes' over some of the hills. You can't drive very quick due to the width of the roads, and if you bin it, you'd be straight through a dry stone wall in many cases. But some of the slightly bigger roads have some great sweeping bends and things on, I was chasing a Chrysler Crossfire for ages, much to his annoyance (shouldn't have bought such a shite car mate  Head v Brick Wall)

Anyway, just a few phone pics, not too many cos they didn't come out too well. If you ever come up here to Alton Towers or anything, take a detour, makes Norfolk's lanes look boring as anything!

My Saffs been to Alton Towers and knows some of those peak roads quite well!

The snake pass over the pennines is fantastic fun too, provided you're not behind a lost artic or tractor, or a Honda Jazz on Sundays.

I have heard of the snake pass. I may well go for a jaunt at some point. There are some amazing roads. Only have to go a little further north and the scenery changes dramatically. Just wanting a new car to make the most of it now  Cool
